RED signs rental agreement with building product giant BAUHAUS.
RED has signed a rental agreement with building product giant BAUHAUS, which means that the chain will be establishing a store in the new Sandbäcken development area in Umeå. Sandbäcken Retail Park has been developed in partnership with the municipality and RED. The retail park development comprises a total of 17,000 square metres of retail space and will accommodate two more large retail premises. The property has good accessibility and is strategically located with exposure to the Ersbodavägen road. Construction is expected to take 18 months and the store will open in autumn 2022.
-“We have long wanted to expand across the north of Sweden and are now very pleased to have found the ideal retail park for BAUHAUS customers in the Umeå area. Approximately 150 people will be hired locally, which is a good message to be able to give in these troubled times”, comments BAUHAUS Marketing Director Johan Saxne.
“RED is proud to again be given the trust to build another BAUHAUS store of this calibre, which demonstrates an excellent business relationship with our tenant and above all emphasises our competence in this segment. We can see that our good cooperation with Umeå Municipality has borne fruit and it is extremely stimulating to be able to deliver and create a platform for long-term jobs at this time”, says Ronald Rico, CEO of RED.
