RED develops sustainable projects in its segment
We have society, customers, suppliers, employees and owners in focus. Sustainable development is high on our agenda.
As a significant player in our segment, it is a given for us at RED to contribute to the development of a sustainable society.
RED’s Sustainability Policy is to serve as guidance for us to be the sustainable choice for our stakeholders, both today and in the future. Through our constant efforts to improve, we will set sustainability targets before the launch of every project which are monitored and evaluated in order to be further strengthened for upcoming projects.
Our goal is to certify our own new production projects to at least the Sweden Green Building Council (SGBC) Silver level. Certification ensures that sustainability issues are highlighted throughout the work process.
RED’s overriding goals for proprietary new production:
- To environmentally certify projects to at least SGBC Silver
- To evaluate the possibility of installing solar panels in all projects
- To provide electric car charging facilities
- To sign agreements for earmarked green property electricity
- That tenants sign agreements for earmarked green business electricity
- That contractors for construction projects:
- set goals and report outcomes for minimising refuse and waste sent to landfill
- sign agreements for earmarked green construction electricity
- establish energy-efficient portacabins and measure and report energy consumption
SGBC Silver
Certification according to SGBC Silver is a clear indication that the construction company or property owner is committed to environmental issues and has considered the users of the building.
SGBC Silver requires more than the building merely complying with legal requirements – factors such as sunshade, acoustics and ventilation need to be much better.
We are members of the Sweden Green Building Council, to contribute to the development of the construction industry.
