In Östersund, the entire project volume of 13,000 square meters is leased. The anchor tenant is BAUHAUS and together with the other two tenants Jysk and ChopChop, the project will strengthen the retail destination and provide a positive impact on the entire region with better service and more jobs.
About the project
In the summer of 2021, RED acquired the property Betongen 1 in Östersund. The property is strategically located directly adjacent to the very important entrance to Östersund and Lillänge Retail Park.
Together with the municipality, RED has started work on a new detailed plan, which will enable the development of 13,000 square metres of new retail space on the property. The detailed plan will be subject to consultation in summer 2022 and is expected to be adopted in early 2023.
Overall development of the project is expected to be completed in early 2024 and is estimated to generate approx. 250 new jobs in Östersund. The property will be certified according to the Sweden Green Building Council’s Miljöbyggnad Silver certificate.
